The Baltimore Sun, June 15, 1861

Military Movements.—For a week past nearly there has been a cessation of the military tide of regiments through this city, and martial matters have grown dull, Yesterday morning the Sixth Regiment of Massachusetts, and the Thirteenth Regiment of New York, ordered to Camp Carroll, near Mount Clare, on Thursday, were ordered back to their respective points, the 6th to the Relay House, and the 13th to the Annapolis Junction. The two regiments were ordered to the vicinity of Baltimore on Thursday on the strength of a report that a riot was progressing in the city. The transfer back took place at 9 a.m. yesterday morning, two straggling members of the 13th regiment got into a quarrel at the Camden depot, and arranged the preliminaries to fight a duel with pistols, which were produced, but the belligerents were induced to forego their fighting propensities at least until they reach Virginia.

The Daily Exchange, June 17, 1861

Movements of Troops.

The movement of Federal troops in this vicinity Was quite active yesterday. At an early hour in the morning the Third Michigan regiment, numbering 1,040 men, passed through this city, en route for Washington. They came by the Northern Central Railway. About the same hour there arrived over the Philadelphia road about three hundred New York volunteers, destined for Washington. The Boston Light Artillery, with a full battery, in the afternoon came into this city from the Relay House, where they have been encamped with the Massachusetts Sixth and Eighth regiments for some time. They are now encamped near the camp of the Maryland volunteers, at McPherson’s.— About seven o’clock last evening the New York Thirteenth regiment reached this city from Annapolis and Annapolis Junction. That portion which had been encamped at Annapolis Junction came in by railroad, while that portion from Annapolis came up by steamboat. The entire regiment repaired to Fort McHenry.
